Innovative Customer Service Initiatives

Customer Service isn't just a department here at SEPTA, it is an ever evolving mindset that the entire organization embodies. We are continually creating new ways to communicate with our customers and constituents and improving our current processes to help enhance the SEPTA Experience.

Our Customer Service Vision is what guides us each and every day:

Here are examples of some of our new initiatives:

Therapy Dog Program

SEPTA has launched a pilot program to provide therapy dogs and their handlers service to volunteer appointments at area participating hospitals and medical facilities on Bus Routes 40 and 42. The pilot program is only open to certified therapy dogs and their handlers. Certification is issued by a participating hospital. The Therapy Dog Pilot Program is not available 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on weekdays.

Information for Therapy Dogs and Their Handlers:

Therapy dogs must wear a certified therapy dog bandana (issued only by a participating hospital) while riding and must be accompanied by a handler with a certified photo ID indicating they are a "Therapy Dog Volunteer" (photo ID issued only by a participating hospital)

Handlers must pay the regular fare to board. There is no charge for a therapy dog

Therapy dogs should ride under the handler's feet or under an unoccupied seat and out of the aisle. Therapy dogs are not allowed on seats

SEPTA Customer Connection (SCC)

Great News! SEPTA Customer Connection has launched its outreach season. The over whelming success of the program offers the opportunity, to meet-n- greet SEPTA staff members from various departments, show our valued customers appreciation, provide our customers with useful information on the SEPTA website, social media and offer travel information. SCC is a great opportunity to receive suggestions, comments and commendations through our Customer staff.
