College Students

SEPTA offers colleges and universities the opportunity to offer their students a discounted semester-based transit pass through SEPTA’s University Pass program. Participating institutions can select from a variety of fare instruments and zones that will coordinate with the institution’s academic calendar.

Temple University, the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University currently participate in the University Pass program. Students should contact their college for more information. College officials looking for more information about the University Pass program can e-mail a SEPTA Sales Associate.

All college students should consider using SEPTA when traveling off-campus. SEPTA service operates throughout the City of Philadelphia and the surrounding region, and provide convenient service to a number of popular student destinations including:

• Philadelphia International Airport
• Area shopping malls, including King of Prussia and Franklin Mills
• Chinatown
• South Street and Penn’s Landing
• Old City and Northern Liberties
• Manayunk
• South Philadelphia Sports Complex, home of Lincoln Financial Field, Wachovia Center and Spectrum, and Citizens Bank Ball Park
• Most local Colleges and Universities
• New York City, by taking the R7 Trenton Line and transferring to connecting N.J. Transit service
