Sale of Paper Transfers Ends: Transfers Only Available on Key Card Starting Aug. 1
As the full transition of SEPTA Key for Transit continues, the sale of paper transfers for continuing travel on buses, trolleys, trackless trolleys, and subways will be permanently discontinued at the end of the service day on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
Starting Wednesday, August 1st customers must have a SEPTA Key Card with money loaded on the Travel Wallet to pay for and use a transfer ($1.00). Customers eligible for the Reduced Fare program must have a SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Card with money loaded on the Travel Wallet to pay for and use a transfer ($.50).
Customers currently using tokens and paper transfers will receive the same fare discounts by using the Travel Wallet feature on a SEPTA Key Card with the added convenience and benefit being able to register their Key Card to protect against loss or theft.
SEPTA Key Cards can be purchased and Travel Wallet funds loaded/reloaded at Fare Kiosks, located at all Market Frankford and Broad Street Line Stations, SEPTA Transit Sales Offices, and a growing list of SEPTA Key External Retail Sales locations. Customers can also Register their Cards and reload their Travel Wallet online by going to www.septakey.org or calling the SEPTA Key Customer Call Center (1.855.567.3782). To find an External Retailer visit the Buy/Load Locator page and click on the External Retailers link.
