PA Issued Senior Citizen Transit ID Cards No Longer Accepted for Travel Effective September 1, 2018

With the full transition of the SEPTA Key fare system, starting September 1st, PA issued Senior Citizen Transit ID Cards will NOT BE VALID FOR TRAVEL on SEPTA.

The following will be the only valid forms of ID:

Senior Citizen (65 years old or older)

  • SEPTA Key Senior Fare Card (photo ID)
  • Valid PA Driver's License/Non-Driver ID with magnetic strip on back
    • Licenses/Non-Driver ID issued after July 2017 cannot be tapped at the Validator or swiped through the Farebox or Turnstile reader and are NOT valid for travel
