"Community Claus" needs no sleigh, he's got SEPTA!

Manuel McDonnell Smith
Public Information Manager

Kids along Southwest Philadelphia's SEPTA Trolley Routes are getting their special deliveries of holiday cheer not from the North Pole, but from a caring neighbor.

"The Community Claus", also known as civic leader Rev. Paul "Earthquake" Moore is spending the holiday season "spreading joy and love in the community" with the distribution of candy canes and stuffed animals to children along Subway Surface Trolley Routes 11, 13 and 36. Moore says the effort of giving is aimed at helping those who may not be able to afford to get presents for their children. In addition to distributing gifts to riders along his trolley rides, he is also using "SEPTA as his sleigh" to several community appearances where he will also share his gifts with children.

Known as the "People's Champ", Moore is a former professional welterweight boxer turned Reverend and Community Activist.
