SEPTA Fans Can Make A 'Fastbreak' To Playoff Action Aboard SEPTA Broad Street Line Sports Express Trains
SEPTA Service Also Set To Ease Expected Penn Relays and Circus Roadway Congestion This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA, PA – SEPTA will provide Broad Street Line “Sports Express” service to games 3 and 4 of the Sixers playoff series against the Detroit Pistons at the Wachovia Center on Friday and Sunday, April 25 & 27.
Thousands of fans have used the Broad Street Line to cheer on the Sixers enjoying the speed, comfort, and convenience it offers to Pattison Station and the Sports Complex.
For the 7 p.m. games, SEPTA Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will leave the Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:08 p.m. and 6:18 p.m. and stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. The express trip from City Hall takes only about eight minutes. Local trains take only 11 minutes to travel to the sports complex from City Hall.
After the events local and express trains will be standing by to provide northbound service back to Fern Rock.
On Saturday (4/26), Broad Street line local and express service will be standing by for fans en route to the 1:05 p.m. Phantoms playoff hockey game against the Albany River Rats at the Wachovia Center.
Also, the 114th annual Penn Relays track and field competition at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday (4/25), and 7 a.m. on Saturday (4/26). Passengers can travel via SEPTA on the El to 34th Street Station, bus Routes 21, 30, 40, 42 or subway-surface Routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36. Passengers can also take regional rail Routes R1, R2 and R3 to University City Station which is just a few steps from the starting line.
In addition, convenient Broad Street Line local and express service will be operating for weekend performances of the Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Circus at the Wachovia Spectrum.
