SEPTA Broad Street Line Service Set For Phillies and Soul Games This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Baseball and football fans heading to the South Philadelphia Sports complex this weekend will find that SEPTA Broad Street Line service is the best way to cheer on their team for the scheduled Phillies/Diamondbacks series at Citizens Bank Park and the Philadelphia Soul’s Conference playoff game at the Wachovia Center.
On Friday (July 11) Broad Street Line “Sports Express” trains will operate from Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:08 p.m., 6:18 p.m., 6:28 p.m., and 6:38 p.m. for the 7:05 p.m. Phillies game. On Saturday (July 12) Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock at 2:38 p.m., 2:48 p.m., and 2:58 p.m. en route to Pattison Station and the Sports Complex for the Phillies 3:55 p.m. game.
Fans using the Broad Street Line travel in air conditioned comfort while avoiding the expected traffic jams in the area as thousands of fans are expected to converge on the sports complex for the games.
In addition, on Saturday convenient Broad Street line service will be standing by for football fans en route to the Wachovia Center as the Philadelphia Soul battle the Cleveland Gladiators at 1 p.m. for the AFL Conference Championship.
On Sunday (July 13), the Phillies will closeout their home stand against the Diamondbacks with a 1:35 p.m. game. Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock at 12:28 p.m., 12:38 p.m. and 12:48 p.m.
Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race‑Vine, City Hall and Walnut‑Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station in South Philadelphia. The express trip from City Hall takes only about eight minutes. Local and express trains will be standing by at Pattison Station to return to Fern Rock after the games.
