Weekday R1 Airport Service Altered by Sunoco Work

PHILADELPHIA, PA - SEPTA will alter R1 Airport Line train service to operate hourly for approximately five days beginning Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18 to accommodate Sunoco repair work adjacent to the railroad tracks.

R1 Airport trains will operate on a single-track between Philadelphia International Airport and University City during Sunoco’s project. As a result, R1 Airport service to and from Center City Philadelphia will be adjusted to provide hourly service instead of every half hour.  SEPTA will operate regular R1 Airport during the weekend.

Weekday R2 Warminster service that operates to the airport will also impacted by the work. Passengers are advised to plan accordingly as additional time may be added to trips.

Special R1 Airport and R2 Warminster schedules with the new train times are now available to view online. In addition, SEPTA is making public address announcements at stations regarding the changes and new schedules and notices are available at Center City Stations. Airport passengers will also find information about the R1 Airport service changes on messages boards.
