Regional Rail Stone Arch Bridge Rehabilitation Program

Construction Update: The second phase of this project will rehabilitate seven structures.

Some of the oldest bridges in the SEPTA system were constructed as stone arch structures near the end of the 19th Century. SEPTA has developed a program to rehabilitate these bridges to bring them to a state of good repair. The first phase of this project, which was completed in summer 2016, included work on nine bridges on the Lansdale/Doylestown, Manayunk/Norristown, and Media/Elwyn Lines. The second phase of the project will rehabilitate eight structures.
