Overnight Parking

WEEKDAYS

SEPTA allows overnight parking on weekdays at many Regional Rail, Norristown High Speed Line, trolley and subway stations providing proper payment is made.  The daily weekday fee to park is $1 at most Regional Rail stations.  Fern Rock Transportation Center and 69th Street Station require a $2 daily weekday fee.

Customers with a current monthly parking permit may park overnight in the designated permit parking spaces.  All other overnight parking customers must park in one of the numbered spaces in a daily fee lot.

Please remember
Weekday, non-permit overnight parking is NOT allowed at the Ardmore Junction and Villanova Route 100 Norristown High Speed Line stations.
Weekday, non-permit overnight parking is NOT allowed at the Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Ivy Ridge, Merion, Overbrook, Villanova and Wissahickon Regional Rail stations.

You will be in violation of the SEPTA parking policy at these stations if you do not have a permit and park overnight between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on weekdays.  Violators will be towed at the owner's expense.

If you are a permit parking holder, you may park overnight at Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Merion, Overbrook or Villanova Regional Rail stations.

WEEKENDS and MAJOR HOLIDAYS

On weekends - Saturday, Sunday (until 1:00 a.m. on Monday) and major
holidays - parking is free at all SEPTA Regional Rail surface lots.

Regional Rail major holidays are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

HOW TO PAY FOR OVERNIGHT PARKING

USING A YELLOW COIN SLOTBOX

If you are parking in a lot with a yellow coin slotbox, payment must be made by check and placed in an envelope provided by the customer.  All checks must be made payable to SEPTA.  The envelope should contain the following information:

  • Parking space number
  • Car description: make and license plate number
  • The date you parked the vehicle and the date you will retrieve your vehicle (total number of days of your stay)

Place the envelope with your payment in the envelope slot located on the back of the yellow coin slotbox.

Remember, parking on Saturday, Sunday and major holidays are free.

ELECTRONIC PARKING METER

If you are parking at a facility with electronic parking meters – Ambler, Fort Washington, Jenkintown, the Trevose remote lot, Warminster, Fern Rock Transportation Center or 69th Street Terminal – be certain to pay at the meter designated for multi-day parking.

Meters accepting multi-day parking payment are identified with the following numbers located in the lower left corner of the machine:

  • #10 at Ambler
  • #23 at Fort Washington
  • #24 at Jenkintown
  • #4 at Trevose
  • #19 at Warminster
  • #3 at Fern Rock
  • #9 at 69th Street Terminal

The electronic parking meters accept two forms of payment – coins or the SEPTA $20 pre-paid parking card.

Instructions on how to pay for overnight/multi-day parking can be found on the designated multi-day electronic parking meters.  Please be sure to retain your receipt as proof of payment, although the receipt does not have to be displayed in your car.
