January OTP was impacted by a series of events including a severe snow storm on January 4, 2018 and the need to operate a Saturday schedule on Friday, January 5 because of the on-going bad conditions - as published in our Severe Weather plan. In the first part of the month, the region experienced arctic temperatures with almost 2 weeks straight of below freezing readings, which required the implementation of speed restrictions for all Lines. January also saw an unusual number of private vehicles on the tracks including one on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line that forced the temporary suspension of service; the suspension of Paoli Line service (01.10.18) due to a trespasser being struck by an Amtrak train; along with a major regional event -- the Woman's March in Philadelphia.
