October OTP

October On Time Performance heavily impacted by Amtrak incidents and construction projects

  • 9/30/18-10/10/18 - AMTRAK 84 Switch Project. Amtrak replaced a critical switch used by SEPTA and Amtrak trains traveling towards 30th Street Station. All (SEPTA/Amtrak) trains traveling to/from 30th Street operated on a single track while work took place. Heavy delays experienced at 30th Street. Service on multiple lines by construction. Work directly impacted Trenton, Chestnut Hill West, Cynwyd, and Paoli/Thorndale Lines with 12-15 minute travel delays. At 30th Street, some of these trains continue on and become Chestnut Hill East and Fox Chase trains, which created cascading delays on these lines as well.

  • resulting from residual cascading delays experienced on Chestnut Hill East and Fox Chase Lines due to the connecting service

  • 9/15/18-10/15/18 - Amtrak Northeast Corridor Track Work impacting Trenton Line. Amtrak continued to complete state of good repair work between Holmesburg Junction and Grundy Interlocking Track, tie, and ballast renewal work on Track #2 resulted in Track #1 being used for both Amtrak and SEPTA train service with Trenton Line delays in the outbound direction (towards Trenton Transit Center)

  • 10/10/18-11/16/18 - Amtrak performing state of good repair work between Grundy Interlocking and Morris Interlocking, affecting trains on the Trenton line between Croydon and Trenton. Merging of Amtrak and SEPTA service continues on Track #1 with Trenton Line delays in the outbound direction.

  • 10/2/18-10/3/18 - West Trenton Line suspended due to signal power issue

  • 10/12/18 - Paoli/Thorndale Line suspended due to tree downing wires and Amtrak train striking damaged tree. Incident began at 9:23 a.m. and continued until 5:15 p.m. impacting 32 SEPTA trains while Amtrak repair work took place,

  • 10/23/18 - Multiple Regional Rail Lines (Warminster, Lansdale/Doylestown, Fox Chase, West Trenton) operating on the northern portion of the SEPTA network suspended due to a PECO related power loss at Wayne Junction.
