On Monday, June 13th Regional Rail service between Doylestown Station and Glenside will begin operating under the Positive Train Control (PTC) signal system, making the Lansdale/Doylestown the third line to have this important safety feature.
As with the Warminster and Fox Chase Lines, our Rail Transportation staff, train crews, vehicle and signal personnel, and the Control Center have been working together to get everything ready and we're prepared to respond to any operation and system adjustments needed.
Following Lansdale/Doylestown Line, the plan is to activate PTC on the Chestnut Hill East Line on Monday, June 27th. We also are working closely with Amtrak and anticipate operating our vehicles, under their PTC system, on the Paoli/Thorndale, Wilmington/Newark, and Trenton Regional Rail Lines in July.

Safety is a top business priority for SEPTA and one of the fundamental principles guiding the transit industry today. We are proud to be at the forefront of a nationwide effort to meet a federal mandate to install PTC on our Regional Rail network.
